The Gang's all Here

We thought it was time that we introduced everyone and what better way then with a little ode to our High School song. St. Peterites will know what we're talking about and if you're not from St. Peter we are now inducting you as honorary members, welcome.

Anyways, let's get on with the introductions. My name is Olivia Hass, Jill Hass, the owner of Olita Gifts & Goods, is my mom. She brought me along on this crazy, amazing journey of hers and I'm grateful for it. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, in my hometown of St.Peter, with a Bachelor of Arts in exercise physiology. (I know, working in retail has nothing to do with how the body works during exercise. I'm not applying much of my degree here, but it's great to see behind the scenes of a retail store and I'm enjoying every minute until I continue on my path.) I am now in between undergrad at Gustavus and going to Graduate School in Occupational Therapy (don't know quite where yet, if you have any suggestions let me know in the comments!). I played basketball and volleyball in High School and continued my basketball career partially through college. I enjoy art, playing sports, movies/TV shows(have any that I just HAVE to watch? Drop them in the comments), and spending time with my family and friends. I am also the one behind  if you've seen that on any products. I generally work at Olita on Thursdays and Sundays. I'm the tall curly-haired one ;). (If you've seen my mom you're probably like, "how on earth is she her daughter?! Jill's so short and Olivia's so tall! I know haha, she is, and I am. My dad is just 6'6"). So now that you know a bit about me I'll tell you a bit about my mom, Jill Hass, and the rest of the Olita gang both behind-the-scenes and those you may have seen in store.

My mom, Jill Hass, where do I even begin. She's amazing and a little bit crazy. Let me tell you why. As you probably know by now, Jill owns and operates Olita Gifts and Goods and Olita Italian Leather Goods (her beautiful Italian Leather handbag company. Check it out here). She also does at-home family daycare 4 days a week, as I said crazy right?! How does she get anything done? Well, that's where the amazing comes in. She finds time to be a successful small business owner for technically 2 small businesses and has a family at home to boot! (You can read more about how Olita came to be here.) I have a younger brother named Tayton and my dad's name is Alex. Working in a retail store may not be their jam, but they help where he can.

If you've read the Olita About Us page my mom wrote you know more into the background of how Olita came to be and that it started with a hair-brained idea from my grandpa, Craig. To summarize a little bit, my grandpa traveled to Italy every year for work and game back with a beautiful messenger work bag and suggested the idea of starting an Italian Leahter handbag company to my mom. A few, "haha you're joking" and a "wait, this could work" later and Olita Italian Leather Goods was born. About 3 years later Olita Gifts and Goods was made a reality in October of 2019. So, my grandparents, Mar and Craig, are a big part of how Olita came to be. We are also really close to our whole family. My mom has 2 younger siblings. Erin who is married to Bo and Drew who is married to Ashley. Both couples have adorable kiddos and I'm so grateful that we're so close to them.

If you've visited the store. there is also a couple other important people you may have seen, Lauren. Lauren is the daughter of one of my mom's best friends, Heidi, and she works at Olita occasionally. She's super sweet and an amazing Olita employee and we're so lucky to have her on our team! Ella is the other person you may see if you come into the store! She is amazing and I'm so glad she joined the Olita Team! Make sure you say "Hi" if you see them working in the store. :)
